Dr. Shanna Cooper

Shanna Cooper, PhD, ABPP-CN, is board certified in clinical neuropsychology and a licensed clinical psychologist. Her expertise includes forensic, clinical, and FAA neuropsychological assessments in adults and older adults.

She evaluates cognitive and emotional functioning in a range of disorders including pre-dementia/dementia, concussion/acquired brain injuries, neurodevelopmental disorders, medical disorders (e.g., brain tumor, epilepsy, HIV), and psychiatric disorders (e.g., bipolar disorder, depression). She strives to provide culturally competent and science-informed care, providing quality information to the patient and their loved ones as the focal point of her work.

Dr. Cooper's research has focused on the interplay of cognition and emotion particularly at early stages of developing a range of disorders, such as psychosis and neurodegenerative conditions. She currently serves as the study neuropsychologist on numerous OHSU/Department of Neurology studies focused on epilepsy and regularly collaborates with her colleagues in the Department of Psychiatry.

Dr. Cooper earned her doctorate in clinical psychology and neuroscience from Temple University and completed her neuropsychology internship and two-year neuropsychology fellowship (both APA accredited) at VA San Diego / UC San Diego; she completed an additional three-year neuropsychological apprenticeship in forensic neuropsychology with Dean C. Delis, Ph.D., ABPP-CN.

Dr. Cooper is a member of many professional organizations and regularly serves in leadership positions. These organizations include the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology (AACN), the American Psychological Association (APA), the International Neuropsychological Society (INS), and the National Academy of Neuropsychology (NAN).
